Architecture
We have designed our buildings with an eye for capturing the spirit of Appalachia in an elegant, comfortable, and modern setting. Every structure adds to the feel beauty of our natural surroundings.
The Rings have developed this property with an eye to detail:
- Our state-of-the-art barn, with a custom compass rose floor, offers a keyhole view of the pastures and rolling mountains that can’t be beat.
- Our Labyrinth is a gorgeous haven in a natural, hemlock-ring cathedral where we practice a simple walking meditation.
- Trails for self guided nature walks through woods, wetlands, waterfalls, and tree farms.
- Our barn kitchen and lounge offer a quiet space to rest and relax between experiences.
- Our firepit sits at the top peak of the entrance to Blue Star Ranch and offers a stunning property view. It is a perfect after-hours gathering spot.
- Hammocks are hung under trees for the perfect napping spots.
- Our Stargazer Point Pavilion is the newest addition to the Ranch. Sitting at the top of the Christmas tree farm, this pavilion is the perfect spot for stargazing and roasting marshmallows.
Find a sense of connection. Our ancient land is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, home to the Cherokee, and a center of spiritual renewal. We have designed our buildings with an eye for capturing the spirit of Appalachia in an elegant, comfortable, and modern setting. Our facilities are state-of-the-art, complemented by antique furnishings with cozy cushions and throws. This is back-to-nature, but it is not ‘roughing it.’ Our covered arena is a place of architectural wonder!
Every detail is a reflection of our goal of a return to nature. Explore these philosophies with us in our new lifestyle book, A Blue Star Life: Living in Step! More information to come.

Our stone labyrinth is an excellent place for peaceful meditation. It features a ginkgo tree at the center which is one of the oldest known tree species in the world.

Our facilities are state-of-the-art, complemented by antique furnishings with cozy cushions and throws.

Our pastures were built around our natural wetlands. These areas feature an abundance of wild flowers in bloom throughout the spring and summer.
